Putting Transhumanism Under the Microscope

By Joseph

Transhumanism is symbolized by ’H+’ or ‘h+’ and is often used as a synonym for human enhancement. In 2002, the World Transhumanist Association (WTA) modified and adopted The Transhumanism of Declaration. The Transhumanist FAQ, prepared by the WTA, gave two formal definitions for transhumanism:

1) It is also an international cultural and intellectual movement with an eventual goal of fundamentally transforming the human condition by developing and making widely available technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities.
2. )The study of the ramifications, promises, and potential dangers of technologies that will enable us to overcome fundamental human limitations and the related study of the ethical matters involved in developing and using such technologies. Transhumanist theorists and advocates seek to apply reason, science, and technology for the purposes of reducing poverty, disease, disability, and malnutrition around the globe. It is distinctive in its particular focus on the applications of technologies to the improvement of human bodies at the individual level. Many transhumanists actively assess the potential for future technologies and innovative social systems to improve the quality of all life while seeking to make the material reality of the human condition fulfill the promise of legal and political equality by eliminating congenital, mental, and physical barriers.

Transhumanist philosophers argue that there not only exists a perfectionist ethical imperative for humans to strive for progress and improvement of the human condition but that it is possible and desirable for humanity to enter a transhuman phase of existence, in which humans are in control of their own evolution. In such a phase, natural evolution would be replaced with deliberate change. Finally, transhumanism is often times referred to as post-humanism. Why is that? As Huxley said:

“ Human beings may eventually be able to transform themselves into beings with such greatly expanded abilities as to merit the label “post-human”.”

Now, what did I share with everyone what Shaw said? What was Pygmalion or My Fair Lady all about? Let us go back and restate what Eugenics is.

The study of, or belief in, the possibility of improving the qualities of the human species or a human population by such means as discouraging reproduction by persons having genetic defects or presumed to have inheritable undesirable traits (negative eugenics) or encouraging reproduction by persons presumed to have inheritable desirable traits (positive eugenics).”

So to recap what i shared with all so far, what is the goal of Julius Huxley, UNESCO, and transhumanism? It could be summed up as this: to help the emergence of a single world culture. Who would be carrying this out in the world? UNESCO. How would Huxley do this? Although political unification in some sort of world government will be required for the definitive attainment of this stage, unification in the things of the mind is not only also necessary but can pave the way for other types of unification.

So Huxley saw Eugenics as a way to manage the worldwide society. From the evolutionary point of view, the destiny of man may be summed up very simply: it is to realize the maximum progress in the minimum time. The philosophy of UNESCO, then, was to bring about world unification. Biological inequality is, of course, the bedrock fact on which all of eugenics is predicated. However, it is through the enlightened use of science, those who are worthy, will guide society. This is seen as pure reason to the eugenicist.  So Huxley spoke of using the scientific method to: increase in our knowledge of and control over the phenomena of human and social life.

The main word you see Huxley said was CONTROL.

So under the Presidency of Huxley, UNESCO became this body to create this Utopian society that Huxley envisioned in his mind by means of standardized education/indoctrination. However, intertwined in this education is eugenics. As Huxley stated:

The dead weight of genetic stupidity, physical weakness, mental instability, and disease proneness, which already exist in the human species, will prove too great a burden for real progress to be achieved.

So what is the image the UN wants one to see? That they are for the poor. For example, remember trick or treat for UNICEF? But with Huxley as the first Director of UNESCO, to unify the world, includes the use of eugenic policies. So just like Shaw, they believe that the most intelligent have a right to life, and that the weak only get in their way. Therefore, humanity cant properly evolve with inferior, feeble, or mentally challenged types of people ruining the collective gene pool. Transhmanists regularly site the fact that human nature in its current form is highly flawed and the way to improve it is through the enlightened application of science and technology. Thus, even though the word Eugenics is not used, or spoken, transhumanism is eugenics.

So as a child in school, in the Common Core system, you are taught only the subjects you need to be productive and make lots of money for the company. They remove all subjects that business leaders, Washington, corporations do not want you learn. That will also destroy this Utopian society that they are trying to create. But just like the end of the real ending of the play Pygmalion, they do not want you to marry. It is the same reason why Shaw did not want Eliza to return to Doctor Dolittle. Because once you reach this higher class, they are afraid you will marry someone of a lower class. Think, what the children would become? Then, there is also this: If we could catch the bad behaviors, the bad feelings or emotional problems a child has, NOT at home, but in school. If the children see the teachers as the parents, all those negative behaviors, feelings, or mental challenges would be removed. Everyone on the same page. Thus, everyone becomes a brick. No one thinks for themselves. Everyone is made in the same image.
